Also, MMBC host The C.J “SNOWY” McAlister Winter longboard festivial on the June long weekend, and have done so for the last 29 years.

About Competition Days

  • Competition days are the first Sunday of the month.
  • Meet at 7:00am opposite Carlton Street, Manly Beach.
  • Boards should be contest length (nine foot, measured along the deck) Malibu/longboard style.
  • Details on fees are contained in the Membership Form

Members surf two heats and points are totalled for their two best waves of each heat. All members must judge 2 heats prior to their own heat. A judging heat draw (roster) is displayed next to the surfing heat draw. Place your name on the judging sheet to be eligible for the monthly competitor draw prize!

You must be a financial member to surf, for insurance purposes. If surfing conditions are poor (No Form – No Surf), we’ll cancel the comp and defer the competition to the third Sunday of the month.

Members are asked to help set up the equipment in the morning & assist packing up on completion, lend a hand with the BBQ and anything else necessary at each comp day. The final requirements are to have fun and encourage others, share waves in your heat, enjoy the beach atmosphere and maybe even win a prize.
